Dr. Jessica Berkeridge had wanted to be a vet since she was 7 years old and chased that dream to it’s completion when she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia in 2010. At that time, a new dream was born to both start a rescue so that local strays could find loving homes and to start a veterinary hospital where all the employees, pets, and clients, were treated like family.

This dream was also completed in 2018 when Cheyla’s Rescue Foundation adopted out its first cat and in 2019 when Summit Bridge Veterinary Hospital opened its doors for the first time. Since then, these both have only grown. Cheyla’s Rescue finds homes for 300 pets per year and growing and Summit Bridge Veterinary Hospital serves thousands of local pets and their people, helping them to stay happy and healthy. She couldn’t be more proud to work with the team that has come together to serve these goals. Jessica lives with her husband Stephen, her son Evan, her bestest little pit bull baby Sky, and her two mischievous cats Dragon and Phoenix.
